Troubleshooting

Problem

During a Save-while-active backup, messages CPF3742 f/QSRSVDEQ and CPF377F f/QSREVTHD appear in the joblog on the QUSRDIRDB library, and CPI8365 appears in the QSYSOPR message queue stating that the commit or rollback job is for QSQSRVR.

Resolving The Problem

Problem Summary:

Messages CPF3742 f/QSRSVDEQ and CPF377F f/QSREVTHD appear in the joblog on the QUSRDIRDB library during a Save-while-active backup.
CPF3742:
Message . . . . :   Save and restore file on media is not complete.
Cause . . . . . :   The save function ended abnormally before all data was written to the media.  File QUSRDIRDB is not complete.  The file is on volume &2.
CPF377F:
Message . . . . :   Save-while-active request prevented by pending record changes.
Cause . . . . . :   The save-while-active request ended on library &2 because there are commitment definitions on the system with pending record changes.
The QSYSOPR message queue has message CPI8365 stating that the job is QSQSRVR.
CPI8365:
Message . . . . :   Save-while-active request requires commit or rollback for job &6/QUSER/QSQSRVR.

Resolution:

To resolve the problem, do one of the following:
o End the LDAP server before the save, and start it after the save. To end the LDAP server before the save, on an IBM i5/OS command line type the following:

ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*DIRSRV)

Press the Enter key.

To start the LDAP server after the save, on an i5/OS command line type the following:

STRTCPSVR SERVER(*DIRSRV)

Press the Enter key.
o
Omit the library QUSRDIRDB from the save-while-active backup.
Note:  It is important that this library have regular backups as it does contain user data related to the LDAP product.  The library would be recreated IF it did not exist at the time of starting the LDAP server allowing the product to function.  However, any data that was kept with in the library is lost.  For instance, if you are using Enterprise Identity Management (EIM), the users set up to use single sign on are stored in the QUSRDIRDB library, and you would need to set them up again if this library was not restored from a good backup.
