Abstract
This document describes how to enable content management solutions to exploit high availability on supported platforms using IBM Content Manager.
It describes how to:
• install and configure an IBM Content Manager V8.6 system on AIX7.1 by using Db2 pureScale V11.1, and deploy an active-active high availability environment
• configure an IBM WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment managed cell with two nodes and one WebSphere Application Server cluster running two resource manager application server instances (cluster members).
IBM Content Manager components are a hybrid of databases and a web application; this means that the design criteria use platform-specific cluster support and the high availability capabilities that are in the database and Web Application Server products. High availability environments are designed to eliminate single points of failure throughout the application stack. This is done by using the high availability capabilities and services that are in Db2 pureScale, WebSphere Application Server, and the operating system’s clustering software support.
The concepts in this document apply to many operating systems; however, the details depend on the hardware and software components used.
