Actions That Cause an Update to the Last Used Date of a Program

Problem

This document describes what causes the Last Used Date of a program to get updated.

Resolving The Problem

The Last Used Date of a program is updated when the program is run, this does not apply to system programs. If a system program is run, the last used date is not updated.

Some commands cause the Last Used Date to get updated. They are:

CRTDUPOBJ (Create Duplicate Object) command
CPYLIB (Copy Library) command
GRTOBJAUT (Grant Object Authority) for referenced objects
RTVCLSRC (Retrieve CL source) command

The following APIs also cause the Last Used Date of a program to get updated:

Retrieve Program Associated Space (QCLRPGAS) API
Change Object Description (QLICOBJD) API (key field 15)
