Resolving The Problem

Monitoring for Monitor Failures in Management Central

If a user wants to know when a system monitor has gone to a failed status, the user can set up a Job monitor. The following are options for setting up a job monitor to monitor failures or issues on the system monitors.

oUse the existing Job Monitor support:
o Monitor the following:
o Joblog messages of QYPSSRV in V5R1 – V5R2
o Joblog messages of QYPSJSVR in V5R4 and above
o Monitor server jobs on endpoints
o Monitor for System Monitor Failed messages: CPFB904 and CPFB905
o Trigger action can be a message, pager, run program, and so on.
o Action Apply can be useful to limit times when action is to be taken
o Event log records the monitor failure
o Use in conjunction with enhanced system monitor recovery functionality
