While performing a SafeGuarded Copy backup, a warmstart may result in inconsistent backup or undetected data loss.

Description
IBM testing has identified a timing window within a DS8K error recovery code path, which if encountered during SafeGuarded Copy backup formation, may result in one or more inconsistent volumes or undetected data loss in SafeGuarded Copy backup(s). 

Mitigation
Any systems that are using SafeGuarded Copy below the fix level, will need to be monitored for any warmstart activity. 
Contact IBM support to enable warmstart notification. 
If any warmstart has occurred, the dump data will need to be offloaded and analyzed for any exposure and action plan.  

Fix
Update to the following code levels:
DS8880:
R8.5SP7 - 88.57.8.0 or higher
DS8900F: 
R9.0 SP4 - 89.4.8.0 or higher
R9.1 SP2 - 89.12.8.0 or higher
