Summary
Instructions for enrolling an Android work managed (full device control) device in to MaaS360.
Environment
Android device on 6+ in a new out-of-box or in a factory reset condition.
MaaS360 suggests using devices from the Android Enterprise Recommended list, or Samsung branded devices. Devices that do not fall under these two categories may or may not work, depending on manufacturer customizations.
Steps
Please Note: On screen options and appearance may vary depending on OS version and device manufacturer. All screenshots in this document were produced using a Google Pixel running Android 11.
Turn on the device. You should see the welcome screen in order for these workflows to be valid.
Proceed through any connectivity screens that are presented.
Zero Touch Enrollment/KNOX Mobile Enrollment clients may skip this section as the app will download and install automatically upon device activation.
In the field where you would normally enter the email address for a Google account, enter afw#maas360 (case sensitive). Follow all on screen prompts to download and install the MaaS360 agent.
The device will begin to set up the work environment. Accept all prompts to continue.
The MaaS360 agent will now launch and pin to the screen. User will not be able to exit the MaaS360 agent from this point until enrollment is complete. Zero touch/KME clients only - some of the enrollment screens may be pre-populated with data based on organizational settings.
Enter your email address and the Corporate ID provided by your organization.
Enter your Username and select the Ownership of the device (ownership field may be hidden or greyed out, depending on organizational settings)
Enter your enrollment passcode or organizational password.
Accept the MaaS360 Terms & Conditions as well as any organizational T&Cs that may be presented. The device will complete the work account creation and enrollment.
The MaaS360 app will launch automatically. It may remain pinned to the home screen for a minute or two while the device completes enrollment processes in the background. Once it is done, the home button will appear (or function, if it is a hardware key), and you may begin using the device.
The only Google account on the device will be the Android Enterprise account. Whether or not a personal account may be added will be dependent on your company settings.
Enrollment of the Android Enterprise device as a fully managed device is now complete! Apps distributed by your organization may start installing automatically.
