This document describes how a user can check the status of the last run of BRMS control groups
Resolving The Problem
This document describes how a user can check the status of the last run of a BRMS control group. This BRMS function is available starting at V6R1M0 with PTF SI31653 applied .
Using BRMS GUI
Only the status of the *SYSTEM control group can be checked. To check the status of the last run, do the following:
1. Ensure that the BRMS GUI plug-in has been removed and reinstalled after SI31653 was applied
2. Open System i Navigator
3. Right-Click on Backup, Recovery and Media Services
4. Select Open Backup, Recovery and Media Services
The following panels explain the differences a user may see:
When the *SYSTEM control group has never been done or no *SYSTEM control group history records exist:

When the most recent *SYSTEM control group was successful:

When the most recent *SYSTEM control group completed with errors:

When the most recent *SYSTEM control group completed with unexpected errors:

5250 Emulation (Green Screen)
In green screen, the following option is available:
CALL QBRM/Q1AOLD PARM('CTLGSTATUS' '*DISPLAY')
The following output will be shown in the joblog.

Where:
- The first column is the control group.
- The 2nd column is the control group type...only *BKU support.
- The 3rd column is status: *SUCCESS - means no problems, *FAILED means did not work, *QUALIFIED means some objects were not backed up.
- The 4th column is the date/time in CYYMMDDHHMMSS format.
- The 5th column is the job number.
- The 6th column is the date of expiration in CYYMMDD format.
Starting at V6R1M0 there is a new option PRTRPTBRM TYPE(*CTLGRPSTAT)
