Abstract

IBM Z Software Migration Capacity Planning Aid (IBM zSoftCap) is PC-based tool that evaluates the effect on IBM Z processor capacity when migrating to newer levels of software, including z/OS, z/VSE, CICS, and IMS. IBM zSoftCap assumes that the hardware configuration remains constant while the software version or release changes.

Note: Your currently installed version of IBM zSoftCap must be uninstalled before installing IBM zSoftCap 6.1.3.  This step is necessary to facilitate conversion to the latest IBM Semeru 64-bit runtime environment that is included with IBM zSoftCap.

Note: The IBM Semeru Runtime Environment provided herewith shall only be used with the IBM zSoftCap tool. 

Note: IBM zSoftCap is officially supported under Windows 11/10 64-bit.

Note: IBM zSoftCap and its supporting Java must be installed to the same user ID.  IBM zSoftCap can only be run on the user ID to which it was installed.  After downloading the zip file, extract and execute the EXE file, and respond to the install prompts.
