IBM PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX & Linux and VIOS support information
IBM PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX & Linux are both supported on the PowerVM architecture based Power systems. IBM PowerHA SystemMirror can be deployed with dedicated IO resources to the LPAR or IO virtualized through the VIO servers.
PowerHA SystemMirror supports most of the IO supported by VIOS. For any restrictions, refer to PowerHA SystemMirror documentation. Note that PowerHA SystemMirror works with following VIOS technologies:
Storage virtualization: vSCSI, NPIV, and Storage Server Pool (SSP)
Network Virtualization: Shared Ethernet, vNIC
If you have deployed VIOS and PowerHA, please plan to configure netmon and virtual network failure detection capability of VIOS (review poll_uplink setting). Supported PowerHA SystemMirror versions using VIO 2.2.X & VIO 3.1.X include:
