Content

IBM plans to discontinue delivery of software on 3480, 3480 Compressed (3480C), and 3490E tape media. IBM recommends using Internet delivery when ordering your z/OS products or service. If you choose to order physical media, IBM recommends ordering 3590 or 3592 tape media. This format is more dense and will reduce the number tapes you have to handle. This Statement of Direction was announced in the  August 5, 2008, z/OS R10 General Availability letter(208-186) .
