IBM High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing (HACMP*) Extended Distance (HACMP/XD) Version 5 has extended its Metro Mirror support to the IBM TotalStorage* DS8000 series.
DS8000 is designed to provide unmatched functional, flexibility, and performance for enterprise disk storage systems. The DS8000 series incorporates IBM's POWER5* processor technology and takes advantage of IBM's TotalStorage Resiliency Family technologies, including Metro Mirror. Metro Mirror is designed to provide real-time synchronous mirroring of logical volumes between two systems that can be located up to 300 km from each other. With the addition of HACMP/XD Metro Mirror support on the DS8000, HACMP provides a layer to your solution that enables automatic failover and recovery to a remote site in the case of a disaster.
