APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • This APAR addresses the following issues:
    1. If a DRDA port is dynamically added Rules based routing for
ODBM can fail because the newly added port was placed in the
wrong list of port types. The event records for the routing
exit shows that CEX routing was not done and that the request
was returned to ICON for the default routing action.
    2. An ABEND0C4 can occur in module CEXTECL if an input message
from the Soap Gateway fails to be converted due to a converter
error. The input message payload must be larger than 64K for
the abend to occur. The abend may be preceded by ICON message
      HWSA0345E ADAPTER HWSXMLA0 ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR: R=???
    3. An ABEND0C4 can occur in module CEXEXRTR if there are no ICON
datastores defined and CEX security checking is active. The
abend requires that CEX security checking be active and that
CEX find the associated ICON datastore to see if it has an
Application name associated with the datastore. Since no
datastores are defined, the datastore lookup routine can
eventually ABENDS0C4 trying to find the CEX datastore entry.

Problem conclusion

  • 1.The code that processes the dynamic addition of a TCPIP or
DRDA port has been updated to correctly identify the port
type and add it to the proper list.
2.The IRM trace code x'A4' in module CEXTECL has been updated to
recognize that the routine has been called after a failure of
the XML converter process and to do additional sanity checking
of the format of the application payload when it is called.
3.The datastore lookup routine in the exit router has been
changed to correctly recognize that no ICON datastores are
defined and and return this information to the CEX security
    routines.
