APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • mmfsck estimate-only fails. It left an internal fsck flag
uncleaned which blocked any new mount requests with
E_NOTREADY (err 46)

Reported in:
Spectrum Scale 5.0.5.1

Local fix

  • Run mmfsck -o then ctrl-C to terminate it, this helps to
correct internal fsck flag

Problem summary

  • mmfsck --estimate-only panics at the end of fsck
and a new stripe group manager disallows new mounts

Problem conclusion

  • Benefits of the solution:
mmfsck --estimate-only works correctly.

Work Around:
Start and abort an online fsck for all the nodes
that had run the mmfsck --estimate-only command

Problem trigger:
Run multi-node mmfsck --estimate-only while fs
is mounted.
