Error description

• OPEN error ABEND013 occurs for the PROCCTL data set when HDPC
  runs as ULU region with MSGIEC141I
  This error occurs when the PROCCTL DD statements are
  concatenated as follows:

  *                 users who run HD Pointer Checker stand alone *
  *                 FABPMAIN job as IMS utility batch region     *
  *                 (ULU).                                       *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) gets          *
  *                      ABEND013-4C while it is opening PROCCTL *
  *                      statements. This error occurs when      *
  *                      DSN= data set name and a DD * instream  *
  *                      data set are concatenated by mixture    *
  *                      to the PROCCTL DD.                      *
  *                      For example,                            *
  *                                                              *
  *                        //PROCCTL  DD DSN=dsname,...          *
  *                        //         DD *                       *
  *                          ... control statements              *
  *                                                              *
  *                      This ABEND occurs only when HDPC runs   *
  *                      as ULU batch region. It does not occur  *
  *                      when HDPC runs as DLI or DBB region.    *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *

  When HDPC closes PROCCTL data sets, it does not release the
  buffer pool by FREEPOOL macro. Therefore HDPC gets ABEND013
  when it opens the PROCCTL data set again.
