Users do not see expected message (similar to "The cell or chart you're trying to change is on a protected sheet") in Controller Web, when click on a cell (in a form) which is protected, caused by APAR PH29088

Troubleshooting

Problem

User launches Controller classic (CCR.EXE), clicks "Company - Data Entry - Reported Values", and opens a Data Entry form. Inside Excel, the user clicks on a 'protected' cell.
  • As expected (good) a message "The cell or chart you're trying to change is on a protected sheet" appears.
User then launches Controller Web, and opens a similar Form. User again clicks on what should be a special 'protected' cell.
  • No message appears, therefore the end user does not know that this cell is protected (unexpected/bad)
  • However, the end user cannot modify that cell - for example type in a value (good)

Symptom

In Controller 'classic' the message received is:

The cell or chart you're trying to change is on a protected sheet. To make a change, unprotect the sheet. You might be requested to enter a password.
