IO08280: BACKUP PCF FILE IS NOT CREATED DURING A REMOTE MIGRATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When migrating a system with a remote migration package, the
backup OS product control file (PCF) ADX_SPGM:ADXCSTSD.V?M is
not created. When migrating to V5, ADX_SPGM:ADXCSTSD.V4M should
be created so that the user is able to restore the previous
PCF file and enable the store to be remigrated after a failed
migration attempt. This is the way it works for local
    migrations.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The migration process did not consider backing up the OS product
control file (ADXCSTSD.DAT) when performing a remote migration.

Problem conclusion

  • Added validation in order to backup the ADXCSTSD.DAT file to
the ADXCSTSD.V4M file for the remote migration.

Temporary fix

  • In your RCP Command file, make a copy of the PCF file before
running any of the migration commands.
