Question

How to interpret the "Free Memory Slots Availability for All Clusters" chart in Cluster dashboard?

Cause

From Grid (Tab) -> Dashboards -> Cluster, one of the chart is Free Memory Slots Availability for All Clusters.

Answer

This chart give a rough estimation of free memory slots left in the cluster, and helps administrator to check the slots available for new jobs.

For example, the graph shows 16 for 1G, and 5 for 2G. That means, if a job needs to reserve for 1G memory, then there are approximately 16 slots available for this kind of job in all clusters. If a job needs to reserve for 2G memory, there are approximately only 5 slots available for that kind of job. And for any jobs require more than 4G memory, there is no slots and job will surely pend
