Updates, limitations, and known problems

Documentation updates, limitations, and known problems are documented as individual entries in an online knowledge base. As problems are discovered and resolved, IBM Software Support updates the knowledge base. By searching the knowledge base, you can find workarounds or solutions to problems. At the time of publication, the following issues were known:

  • The troubleshooting guide contains outdated instructions for configuring the session timeout value on JBoss and determining the port on which JBoss is running. The correct instructions are as follows:

Once a user is logged in to the repository, a period of inactivity is allowed before the session is terminated and the user must reauthenticate. To increase or decrease this value:
For JBoss EAP 7.x, see https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2357941.
Run the following command in jboss-cli.sh to modify the default-session-timeout attribute:
    /subsystem=undertow/servlet-container=default:write-attribute(name=default-session-timeout, value=60)

The JBoss application server's HTTP port is defined in the file:  \standalone\configuration\cds_server.xml
Alternatively, from the command line, you can use the netstat command to view applications and the ports that are in use.

  • AIX is no longer supported. There may be cases where AIX is still mentioned in the translated documentation, but it's no longer supported.
  • IBM Analytical Decision Management isn't supported with 8.2.2 (8.0 is required). There may be cases where it's still mentioned in the translated documentation, but it's no longer supported.
  • The Scoring Service will fail to start when SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services is deployed on JBoss 7.3 with IBM JRE. You'll receive an error like:
"Scoring Service waiting for platform 'CapabilityInformation' service. Reason: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.parsers.XIncludeAwareParserConfiguration incompatible with org.apache.xerces.xni.parser.XMLParserConfiguration."
This is a limitation of JBoss EAP 7.3 with IBM JRE and the workaround is to copy the xercesImpl jar (with a name like xercesImpl-2.12.0.SP02-redhat-00001.jar) from JBoss into the IBM JRE under the directory JRE/lib/endorsed.
  • When importing a .pes file into a Repository Server deployed on Liberty, it may randomly fail with this error:
    "com.spss.psapi.ra.connection.UnknownSessionFactoryNameException: PSAPI_SessionFactory"
This is caused by an incorrect state of the resource adapter, which only happens on Liberty. To work around this issue, re-upload the stream file and then log on to the Repository Server again in Deployment Manager.
  • The single sign-on functionality doesn't work on JBoss EAP 7.3 with IBM JRE. This is an IBM JRE issue and we suggest switching to Oracle JRE if you encounter this problem.
  • In a Liberty deployment, some configuration items in browser-based Deployment Manager display incorrectly and words may be randomly truncated if using Russian locale. This is a limitation of Liberty; the Content-Length entity header returned  by Liberty is incorrect in Russian. As a workaround, we recommend switching to a different application server or simply using English locale.
  • The scoring configurations will be failed to be loaded during the Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository Server startup when application server is WebSphere Liberty profile. The workaround is to start the scoring configurations manually.
  • There's currently not an IBM SPSS Statistics Adapter for version 8.2.2. An adapter will be released in the future for SPSS Statistics 27.
