Pass custom parameters to Device Owner enrollment configuration (JSON) file

Abstract

In addition to the existing device provisioning options, MaaS360 now allows administrators to pass custom parameters to the enrollment configuration (JSON) file. Administrators can use the Custom Attributes field in the Android Enterprise QR code/ZTE/KME provisioning window to add up to 10 parameters in the form of key-value pairs. MaaS360 agent reads these parameters as a part of Device Owner enrollment and issues corresponding action to the device. In the previous releases, administrators had to manually add the parameters to the JSON file.

Note: Supported for DO enrollments: QR code, ZTE, and KME. Requires MaaS360 for Android version 7.20+.

To add additional attributes,

  1. Navigate to Devices > Enrollments > Other Enrollment Options.
  2. Select either Android Enterprise QR Code Provisioning or Android Enterprise Zero Touch Enrollment/KME Enrollment.
  3. In the enrollment configuration window, provide additional attributes in the form of key-value pairs
Key Value Pairs

The supported custom parameters are listed in the following table:

 true: Users cannot skip the enrollment screens. If the device is turned off during the setup, the device will be locked to MaaS360 on reboot to resume the enrollment from where it left off. 
  device_name_prefix
 csn

Assigns device CSN + Device model number as a device name. If the device CSN attribute is added, the order of precedence for device name is custom device name > asset name > username > device CSN. For more information on the custom device name, see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/5737563
enable_debug_log

 true: Debug mode is enabled on the device. MaaS360 generates a detailed log of application activity that helps the support team to troubleshoot issues by pinpointing the cause of the problem.
false: Debug mode is disabled on the device and the MaaS360 agent cannot capture device logs.
Note: You can add up to 10 custom attributes. Supports only alphabets, numbers, and underscore _ in the input fields.
