APAR status

Error description

  • With a simple sql consisting of  two tables with a  left outer
join between them,the right side table being a small table of
20MB , having hive.mapjoin.smalltable.filesize at 25MB does
not cause map side join.

Local fix

  • Adjust hive.auto.convert.join.noconditionaltask.size
accordingly to force map side join

  • The problem is fixed in Version 4.3 and later fix packs.
