Abstract
To improve performance for the Case Manager Builder application, increase the maxpermsize setting in WebSphere Application Server.
Content
For IBM Case Manager installations on a Solaris server, you might encounter memory issues when using Case Manager Builder. For example, you might see the following error:
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
You can prevent these issues by increasing the memory limit in WebSphere Application Server.
To increase the memory limit in WebSphere Application Server:
- In the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, navigate to WebSphere application servers > server_name > Java and Process Management > Process definition > Java Virtual Machines.
- In the Generic JVM arguments field, append the following parameter: -XX:MaxPermSize=384m
- Save your changes and restart the WebSphere Application Server instance.
- For clustered installations, repeat these changes for each node in the cluster.
