IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services can also be installed from a 2-DVD installation set. To obtain the media, contact your account representative.

• It is highly recommended that Prerequisite Check Tool be used to validate the environment for installing IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository. For information about the utility, see DISK 1/Server/PrereqCheck/ReadMe.txt.

The installation process for installing IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services 4.2.1.0 is the same as for IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services 4.2. For information on system requirements and installation, see the following documentation:

IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services repository documentation provides the installation instructions for physical media only. To install from an e-image:

• Download the image corresponding to the server operating system. For example, to install on AIX, download SPSS_CnDS_421_Server_unix.tar.
• Expand the archive, for example: tar -xvf SPSS_CnDS_421_Server_unix.tar.
• In the resulting directory structure, locate the installation executable for your operating system, for example: /Disk1/InstData/AIX/NoVM/install.bin.
• Launch the executable and proceed with the installation as described in documentation.

• ECM00155213: In order to use Prerequisite Check Tool with JAWS accessibility software, JAVA Access Bridge package must be installed.




• ECM00156630: If you are running the repository on a Windows system with DB2 on iSeries as the database, the patch application process may fail during the post-installation step on the PROCESS.package. If this occurs, the corresponding error will be reported in CADS_4.1.2.patch.log file. This error does not cause functional issues and the repository is usable. The workaround is to manually install the PROCESS.package with the Package Manager utility, which can be found in the setup subdirectory of PASW Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository installation folder. For additional information on using the utility, see repository installation and configuration documentation.PROCESS.package file can be found inside the packages subdirectory of CADS_4.1.2.patch archive.




• ECM00160095: If you use IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Deployment Manager 4.2.1 to connect to IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository 4.2 which has Statistics adaptor installed, the client update process will install the Statistics plugin and also overwrite all Deployment Manager plugins with 4.2 versions. To revert to 4.2.1 version of plugins, shut down Deployment Manager, delete C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\SPSSInc\Deployment Manager, and restart the application.

Prerequisite Check Tool is used for validating the environment for installing IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository. The utility can be used for standalone IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services installations; it can also be used to verify that individual application server cluster nodes meet system prerequisites. The utility cannot be used for validating the overall availability of the application server cluster. The installation archive for the utility can be found in /Server/prereqcheck folder on Disk 1 or in 4.2-IM-SCaDSOPTIONAL-MP001.zip downloadable e-image. Use CADS_421prereqcheck.tar.gz for installation on UNIX and CADS_421prereqcheck.zip for Windows and IBM i. For more information, see the readme file for the utility.

Server compatibility checks for content repository imports

When content is imported into the IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository using Deployment Manager, a check is performed to ensure that adaptors (such as Statistics and Modeler) are installed and the versions of the adaptors are at the required level. For example, if the import file contains a job with a Modeler job step and the repository does not have a Modeler adaptor installed, the import will fail. The installed adaptor must be at the same version level or greater than the adaptor referenced in the import file.

If it is necessary to bypass the check and run the import without installing the necessary adaptors, contact IBM support. Note that the check is performed only for import files created with IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services 4.2.1.0 and will be bypassed for import files created in earlier versions of the product.

Additional advanced search fields in IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services - Essentials for Python

IBM® SPSS® Collaboration and Deployment Services - Essentials for Python introduces the following new advanced search options:

• Object last modified date
• Version last modified date
• Version creation date
• Parent object URI
• URI

Using the new Job History Limit configuration option in browser-based Deployment Manager, you can set the number of job history entries to be maintained for each job version. When the limit is reached, older history entries will be replaced by newer entries.
