APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The xntpd daemon may log "synchronisation lost"
errors.  If it is started in debug mode with
-D 5, system time adjustments will be zero
starting at the same time as the "synchronisation
lost" message.

Local fix

  • There is no workaround

Problem summary

  • "synchronization lost" messages were seen in ntp log file.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed so that local clock gets corrected
properly.
