Problem
This technote identifies the resolution to the WebSphere installation error, "Error during 'install' phase," when adding the Web server component to Rational RequisitePro.
Symptom

Returning error message:profile2 is already in use. Specify another name.
Cause
The WebSphere Application Server profile "Profile2" has already been created, either from a previous failed install, or from an existing install of IBM Rational RequisiteWeb (ReqWeb). The "Profile2" profile is only used for ReqWeb, and will need to be removed from WebSphere before installing ReqWeb. Removing this profile will have no impact on existing Rational Web Platform (RWP) applications such as IBM Rational ClearCase, or IBM Rational ClearQuest Web, or IBM Rational ProjectConsole.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve this issue, refer to the following page of the IBM WebSphere Application Server Information Center where there are steps to remove the profileName using the manageprofile.bat file:
