Sessions fail in VTAM with sense 08570003.

Troubleshooting


Problem

Sessions to an application in another host are failing to setup, with sense code 08570003 being issued in the destination host. Sense code 08570002 may also be seen.

Cause

The application has not opened its ACB to VTAM. The state of the application was CONCT and needs to be in a state of ACTIV to VTAM. Sense codes 08570003 and 08570002 will be issued for an application that is in CONCT state.

Diagnosing The Problem

Display the LU and make sure it is active to VTAM.

Resolving The Problem

Have the application issue an OPEN ACB to VTAM.
