Error description

  • When deleting a snapshot it may coredump in mmfs.logs
like:
Command: mmdelsnapshot
/usr/lpp/mmfs/bin/runmmfs: line 560: 1751504: Memory
fault(coredump)

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • When deleting an old snapshot or accessing snapshot
files from an old snapshot, the operations could
run into a out-of-stack space error if a snapshot
file contains an overflow block. This causes the
mmfsd process to crash with a memory fault error.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Benefits of the solution:
Avoid the crash of the mmfsd daemon process due
to this out-of-stack space issue.
