  PE Information:

  The causing APAR fixed the original problem but introduced a new

  VERIFICATION STEPS:
  1) Running JES2 z/OS 2.4 (HJE77C0) with OA58718 applied
  2) Application reading a spanned spool record
  

Local fix

• BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION:
  Contact IBM JES2 Support for a VER/REP circumvention if relief
  is needed prior to install of fixing PTF.

  When an unauthorized application attempts to read a spanned
  SPOOL record with a carriage control character (CC),
  ABEND0C4 may occur in HASCPHAM, a JES2 Access Method module.
  

Problem conclusion

• TYPE/RESTART (WARM) IPL/REQUIRED (YES) CLPA (YES)
  
  CLPA is needed only if HASCxxxx modules currently reside in
  the pageable link pack area (PLPA).
  
  The HASCPHAM module was changed to correct the code that
  caused the ABEND0C4 when an application tried to read
  a spanned SPOOL record.
