Error description
mmbackup does not translate TSM include/exclude rules with spaces in them, such as: Excl Directory /.../My Folder
Local fix
The workaround is to use a '?' as workaround, something like this: exclude /home/user/My?Folder/*
Problem summary
The Spectrum Scale mmbackup command translates include/exclude options into policy rules for backup candidate file lists. If the pathname specified in the include/exclude option contains any white space, mmbackup translates it incorrectly because space is used as the default delimiter in "dsmc query inclexcl" output.
Problem conclusion
Benefits of the solution: Pathname with white space can be used in include/exclude options. This requires the version of IBM Spectrum Protect client that supports the PARSEABLE_INCLEXCL flag. Work around: Use customized policy rule Problem trigger: Use pathname with white space in Spectrum Protect include/exclude options Symptom: Unexpected Results/Behavior Platforms affected: All platforms that IBM Spectrum Protect supports Functional Area affected: mmbackup Customer Impact: Suggested
Temporary fix
