PH27684: ABEND 837 OR CATALOG ERROR CAN OCCUR WITH VOLUME ADDITION FOR NON-NEW DATA SET

Error description

• When Advanced Allocation Management adds a volume to a
  non-SMS non-VSAM data set with a disposition of MOD it may
  result in error as described below.
  1. If the dataset is already extended to 3 or 4 volumes
  before the volume addition is performed, the catalog entry
  of the dataset will not contain correct volsers.
  2. If the dataset is already extended to 5 or more volumes
  before the volume addition is performed, it will result in
  S837 Abend as well as incorrect volsers in the catalog entry.

Problem conclusion

• With this fix, Volume addition on non-SMS non-VSAM dataset with
  dispostion MOD will not cause S837 abend or incorrect volsers
