PH27507: LOOP OR POSSIBLE ABEND0C4 IN IPI4PROC PROCESSING PROGRAM SWITCH CHAIN 20/07/23 PTF PEREMOVE

APAR status

Error description

• APAR PH23939 introduced changes to the IMS PA transit engine
  to deal with mismatched MSGORGTK in program-switch chains. As a
  result of these changes a loop condition, and possible S0C4
  abend were observed around IPI4PROC + 1FF6 when traversing the
  program-switch chain at transaction termination.
  
  Another offset of the ABENDS0C4 was seen at x'EFBE' into
  IPI4PROC.

Problem conclusion

• 1. The processing changes implemented by PH23939 are deprecated
     by APAR PH27507 which introduces new logic for dealing with
     mismatched MSGORGTK.
  
  2. Message IPI0150E will still be issued when the first
     mismatched MSGORGTK is encountered, but the IMS PA
     processing logic will switch to PROGRAMSWITCH(NO) and not
     attempt to re-link program-switch messages. Message
     IPI0335W will be issued to indicate that the change in
     processing logic has taken place.
