Interested in learning how to use Db2 Web query for i ? These modules take you on a journey from how to get started, the basics, and then advanced topics.
Content
These modules assume you have installed Db2 Web Query using our EZ-Install package. This package not only installed the license program products, but provides 100+ sample reports, utilities, setup needed for these modules, and other tools like the Query/400 Discovery tool. To obtain the EZ-Install package, send an email to QU2@us.ibm.com and request it, including your name, company name, and serial number of the system where you plan on installing it.
MODULE 1: Assign a Db2 Web Query Administrator and Enroll Users (download here)
- Learn how to assign a user as a Db2 Web Query Administrator
- Learn about assigning users roles within a Top Level Folder
- Prepare for follow on modules by creating a folder and setting its application path

MODULE 3: Build your First Report (download here)

- Use InfoAssist+ to Build a Report
- Learn how to create auto drill down and auto hyper link
MODULE 4: Build your First Synonoym (Meta Data object) (download here)
This module will take approximately 45 Minutes to complete. Content includes:
- Use the "working with data" user interface from the BI portal to create a meta data object (synonym)
- Learn how to define joins, virtual fields, and hierarchical dimensions in a synonym
MODULE 5: Import a Query/400 Report (download here)
This module will take approximately 45 Minutes to complete. Content includes:
- Importing and modernizing an existing Query/400 report
- Understand some of the limitations of this approach
