    ****************************************************************
The Recovery function for area data set of VSO DEDB terminates
with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ), or recovers the area data set
that has incorrect data even process terminates with RC=00. The
    problem occurs under following conditions:
    - Processing DB is VSO DEDB, and the CI size of the area data
set is 512 byte or 1024 byte.
    - Either log data set or change accumulation data set has been
      created after using /VUNLOAD command.

Recovery function of IMS HP Image Copy reads CI records from the
image copy data set into the work area in the program whose size
is multiple of CI size of the database data set, then it applies
change logs from the log data set or the change accumulation
data set on the buffer. But when CI size is equal or less than
1025 bytes, the log data that is generated by /VUNLOAD command
has the offset in CI that points to the position beyond CI size.
IMS HP Image Copy does not handle this case.

When input Image copy data set that is compressed by IMS HP
Image Copy compression routine, the update process is done in
work area of the decompressed field that has been prepared for
1 CI and the update data is written beyond CI size.

When input Image copy data set that is not compressed by IMS HP
Image Copy compression routine, the update data is written
within the work area of the I/O buffer and overwrites data of
    next CI.

Therefore, the Recovery function for area data set of VSO DEDB
terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ), or recovers the area
data set that has incorrect data even process terminates with
    RC=00.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJRDB9, FABJRDBA, FABRDBB, FABJRDB2, FABJRDB3 and FABJRDB4 has
been modified to bypass update process from log data set or
change accumulation data set if the update data of local data in
    DMAC exceeds the CI size.
