**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 2 users ( FMID=H1J0420 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes following two problems: * * - IMS HP Image Copy does not overwrite * * RETPD and EXPDT keyword, that is * * defined in GLOBAL statement, by * * IC/AIC, CIC/ACIC, and GROUP statement * * when using STACK option. * * - HP Image Copy function terminates * * with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) under * * the following conditions: * * - STACK keyword is specified. * * - Output image copy data set is * * allocated by a JCL DD card. * * - The length of the UNIT name for the * * output image copy data set is 8 * * bytes. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes following two problems: - IMS HP Image Copy does not overwrite RETPD and EXPDT keyword, that is defined in GLOBAL statement, by IC/AIC, CIC/ACIC, and GROUP statement when using STACK option. When RETPD or EXPDT keyword is supplied in IC/AIC, CIC/ACIC, and GROUP statement with STACK option, the value of them are not used in the process and expiration date of each allocated image copy data set is not expected value. IMS HP Image Copy allocates dummy data set dynamically when using STACK option. If the RETPD or EXPDT is defined in GLOBAL statement, its value is used as an allocation parameter. However, about allocation information of each image copy data set that is supplied by JFCB control block, IMS HP Image Copy does not modify the EXPDT field by specified value in other statements. - IMS HP Image Copy function terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) under the following conditions: - STACK keyword is specified. - Output image copy data set is allocated by a JCL DD card. - The length of the UNIT name for the output image copy data set is 8 bytes. When stack output data set is allocated by a JCL DD card, IMS HP Image Copy calculates the length of the UNIT name by finding blank character. However, if the length of the UNIT name is 8 bytes, IMS HP Image Copy refers the address beyond GETMAINed area until it finds blank character. As a result, IMS HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND S0C4
Problem conclusion
By this APAR, IMS HP Image copy modifies the EXPDT field in JFCB control block correctly by specified value in other statements. Also by this APAR, IMS HP Image Copy calculates the length of the UNIT name correctly, if stack output data set is allocated by a JCL DD card. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS Version 4 Release 2 User's Guide SC19-2756-01 ( SC19275601 ) should be changed as follows: Part 3. Running IMS HP Image Copy Chapter 9. IMS HP Image Copy control statements and keywords ICEIN control statement keywords RETPD keyword : Default value None. | Note: | - When the Image Copy function using the STACK option is | performed over two consecutive system days, RETPD parameter | is applied for each image copy data set of the STACK DD on | the basis of creation date of first image copy data set in | the STACK DD. Considerations | - This keyword is effective only when output image copy data | set is dynamically allocated. - If you specify FASTIC=(,COPY), this keyword is ignored. - EXPDT= and RETPD= are mutually exclusive. RETPD2 keyword : Default value None.
