  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS HP Image Copy does not detect the   *
  *                      catalog error for an output image copy  *
  *                      data set on the tape device by ICOUT=   *
  *                      keyword when the generation data        *
  *                      group(GDG) base with the same data set  *
  *                      name already exists in the catalog.     *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  IMS HP Image Copy does not detect the catalog error for an
  output image copy data set on the tape device by ICOUT= keyword
  when the generation data group(GDG) base with the same data set
  name already exists in the catalog.
  
  When the output device is the tape, z/OS CLOSE macro just
  confirms the data set creation but does not confirm the
  result of the catalog process in z/OS. Consequence of that IMS
  HP Image Copy does not detect catalog error for the image copy
  data set and does not issue appropriate message. In this case,
  IMS HP Image Copy ends with RC=00 if the image copy data set is
  created physically. CATLGERROR=rc in the HPSRETCD DD that
  changes the default return code for the catalog error does not
  cover when the exist entry in the catalog is the GDG base.
  

Problem conclusion

• IMS HP Image Copy issues FABJ0307W message ( MSGFABJ0307W )
  newly, that identifies the reason of catalog failure. Also,
  CATLGERROR=rc in the HPSRETCD DD statement handles the catalog
  error when reason of catalog error is that the generation data
  group(GDG) base with the same data set name already exists in
  the catalog.
  
  The message text of FABJ0305W ( MSGFABJ0305W ) has been
  modified by this APAR.
