**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 1 users ( FMID=H1J0410 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HPIC terminates ABEND U3916 RSN 410 * * ( ABENDU3916 ), when the library for * * MDA member is provided STEPLIB DD and * * HDPC=Y is specified. * * Because IMS DB Authorization routine * * allocates DBDS before HPIC allocate. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** HPIC abends U3916 ( ABENDU3916 ) with message ( MSGFABJ3916 ) FABJ3916E DYNAMIC ALLOCATION FAILURE OCCURRED FOR DD: ddname RC=04 RSN=04100000 in DBDS dynamic allocation due to duplicate allocation request. This symptom occurs when library for MDA member is specified in STEPLIB DD and HDPC=Y is requested. Because DBDS members are allocated in IMS DB Authorization Routine from MDA member in STEPLIB, and HPIC issue DYNALLOC for DBDS that is already allocated after calling IMS DB Authorization Routine.
Problem conclusion
By this APAR, HPIC correct order of duynalloc timing of DBDS that is Necessary DBDS allocated before taking DB authorization. And enhance DBALL= optional keyword that control timestamp. If you want to create IC data with same timestamp for all logical related DB that is found by HPIC, you should specify DBALL=(Y,Y). The new macro FABJDGMT and FABJLGMT are provided. FABJDMPN, FABJDPSN, FABJDFCN, FABJBRLS and FABJDSSB have been modified to issue the dynamic allocation before DBRC authorization process. FABJFCCN and FABJFCDN have been modified to unify the timestamp of RUNTIME for Image Copy data set, when DBALL=(Y,Y) is specified in the ICEIN control statement. FABUITCT has been modified to save the address of new HPIC control blocks. FABJPARM, FABJSTMD, FABJTGEN and FABJBLKD have been modified to support the new operand of DBALL= keyword. FABJGLRP has been modified to report the new operand of DBALL= keyword to Global Options Report. The following modules have been reassembled.
