Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 2 users ( FMID=H1J0420 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR includes following APAR of * * IMS HP Image Copy V4R1: * * * * PM26483 * * HP Image Copy ends normally but the * * primary output image copy data set is * * cataloged with the incorrect device * * type when all of the following * * conditions are satisfied: * * - Image Copy function or Create Image * * copy function is processed. * * - The STACK= keyword is specified in * * the ICEIN control statement. * * - The secondary output image copy is * * requested. * * - The device type of the primary * * output image copy data set is * * different from the one of the * * secondary output image copy data * * set. * * Therefore succeeding Recovery function * * or Create Image Copy function will * * fail to dynamically allocate the input * * image copy data sets by using the * * incorrect catalog information. * * * * Also, this APAR fixes following * * problem: * * * * The Image Copy Process Summary report * * shows incorrect return code of the * * image copy processing for the database * * when all of the following conditions * * are satisfied: * * - The DEDBPC=Y keyword is specified in * * the ICEIN control statement. * * - HP Image Copy processes fast path DB * * and full function DB in that order. * * - Some errors found in the HASH Check * * process of the DEDB Pointer Checker * * utility. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR includes following APAR of IMS HP Image Copy V4R1: PM26483 HP Image Copy ends normally but the primary output image copy data set is cataloged with the incorrect device type when all of the following conditions are satisfied: - Image Copy function or Create Image copy function is processed. - The STACK= keyword is specified in the ICEIN control statement. - The secondary output image copy is requested. - The device type of the primary output image copy data set is different from the one of the secondary output image copy data set. Therefore succeeding Recovery function or Create Image Copy function will fail to dynamically allocate the input image copy data sets by using the incorrect catalog information. The cause of the problem is that HP Image Copy uses the device type of the secondary image copy data set as the device type for the primary image copy data set at catalog time, so that the device type in the catalog for the primary image copy data set is incorrect. Also, this APAR fixes following problem: The Image Copy Process Summary report shows incorrect return code of the image copy processing for the database when all of the following conditions are satisfied: - The DEDBPC=Y keyword is specified in the ICEIN control statement. - HP Image Copy processes fast path DB and full function DB in that order. - Some errors found in the HASH Check process of the DEDB Pointer Checker utility. The cause of the problem is that HP Image Copy does not clear return code save area for the HASH Check process of the DEDB Pointer Checker utility.
Problem conclusion
FABJDOPN and FABJCRC1 have been modified to use the correct device type for the CATALOG macro. FABJDPSN and FABJFCDN have been modified to clear return code save area for the HASH Check process of the DEDB Pointer Checker utility. The following modules have been reassembled. FABJDPS9 FABJDPSA FABJDPSB FABJDPS2 FABJFCD9 FABJFCDA FABJFCDB FABJFCD2
