Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS High Performance Image Copy for z/OS * * Version 4 Release 2 users ( FMID=H1J0420 ) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides enhancements of the * * following keywords: * * 1. FASTIC= keyword. * * 2. DBALL= keyword. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR includes following enhancements: 1. For third operand of FASTIC= keyword, new parameters for FCTOPPRCPrimary option of DFSMSdss are added. - FCTOPPRCP(PRESMIRREQ) - FCTOPPRCP(PRESMIRPREF) - FCTOPPRCP(PMR) - FCTOPPRCP(PMP) These new parameters are ignored when FASTIC=DUMP or FASTIC=FDUMP is specified. 2. For first operand of DBALL= keyword, new parameter, XIDX, is added. When XIDX is specified, HP image copy searches the DBDSs which have logical relationships with each others and processes these DBDSs only. Their related indexes are not searched and not processed.

When you request that all DBDS, which are logically related database, are to be searched, IMS HP Pointer Checker is required. | Note: | Logical Group is the term of IMS HP Image Copy. Logical | Group is the group of databases which have logical | relationships with each others and their related indexes. Statements that support this keyword GLOBAL statement Site default option Supported Related keyword None. Format | ____________________________________________________ | | | | | DBALL=Y|XIDX|N|(Y|XIDX,Y|N) | | |____________________________________________________| | | First operand | Y | specifies that the Image Copy function searches the Logical | Group DBDSs from the DBD and that it processes the Image | Copy function for those DBDSs. | | XIDX | specifies that the Image Copy function searches the DBDSs | which have logical relationships with each others and that | it processes the Image Copy function for those DBDSs. Their | related indexes are not searched and not processed. | | N | If you specify N, the Image Copy function does not search | the Logical Group DBDSs. N is the default. | | Second operand | If you omit the second subparameter, N is used as the | default. | | Y | The timestamps of IC data sets for logically related | databases are the same. | | N | The timestamps of IC data sets for logically related | databases are not the same. Notes: | 1. When ICOUT=ddname is specified, DBALL=Y|XIDX is ignored | for that statement. However, when ICOUT=ddname, DBALL=Y, | and VIC=Y are specified, IMS HP Image Copy searches for | an index database that has relationship with the | specified database, and creates a virtual image copy for | that index database. 2. For the optional parameter for the auto-searched DBDS, the first DBDS optional parameter that is specified for ICEIN in the same Logical Group is used. | 3. If you specify DBALL=(N,Y) in GLOBAL statement, HPIC | terminates RC=16 with DBALL operand error. | 4. If you specify DBALL=Y|XIDX and DBDALLOC=N in ICEIN | statement, DBALL=Y|XIDX is ignored. | 5. DBALL= keyword dose not support DEDB and Fast Path | Secondary Index. | 6. When DBALL=XIDX and IDXSRCH=Y are specified, Image Copy | function processes DBDSs as follows: | - At first, Image Copy function searches the related | primary and secondary index DBDSs from the DBD using | IDXSRCH=Y function. | - Next, Image Copy function searches the DBDSs which | have logical relationships with each others using | DBALL=XIDX function. 3.0 Running IMS HP Image Copy IMS HP Image Copy JCL statements ICEIN control statement keywords FASTIC keyword opt | FCTOPPRCP | FCTOPPRCP(sub-opt) specifies that the DFSMSdss FCTOPPRCPrimary option is to be used in the DFSMSdss COPY command. For details, see the description about the FCTOPPRCPrimary keyword in the z/OS DFSMSdss Storage Administration Reference. | Note: The FCTOPPRCP option is valid only when it is | specified for the FASTIC=(,COPY) processing. The release level of DFSMSdss must be higher than Version 1 Release 6, because the FCTOPPRCP option is supported by DFSMSdss Version 1 Release 6 or higher. | You can confirm the information of FCTOPPRCP from the | following web page: | z/OS V1R10.0 DFSMS Storage Administration Reference (for | DFSMSdfp, DFSMSdss, DFSMShsm) SC26-7402-12 | | http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS | /dgt2s272/2.3.7.5.29?SHELF=DGT2BK81.bks&DT=20090227163444 | sub-opt | The following sub-option can be used in the | FCTOPPRCPrimary option. | | PRESMIRREQ | specifies that the DFSMSdss FCTOPPRCPrimary option with | PRESMIRREQ sub-keyword is to be used in the DFSMSdss | COPY command. | abbreviation: PMR | | PRESMIRPREF | specifies that the DFSMSdss FCTOPPRCPrimary option with | PRESMIRPREF sub-keyword is to be used in the DFSMSdss | COPY command. | abbreviation: PMP | | Note: | PRESMIRREQ and PRESMIRPREF are mutually exclusive. | The release level of DFSMSdss must be higher than | Version 1 Release 10, because the PRESMIRREQ and | PRESMIRPREF sub-keyword are supported by DFSMSdss | Version 1 Release 10 or higher.
