PK75559: FABJ4095E AND ABEND0C4 IN FABJARCA UNDER IMS V10 WHEN NOTIFY.UICADDS USER IC RECORD TO RECON

Error description

• FABJ4095E and ABEND0C4 in FABJARCA occur when NOTIFY.UIC adds
  a USER IC record to the recon when running under IMS V10.  The
  error occurs because HPIC mishandles the UIC flag in DBRC.

  HPIC V4R1 Recovery function terminates with ABEND S0C4
  ( ABEND0C4 ) at FABJARCA CSECT FABJARCA + X'1B72', ABEND U4095
  ( ABENDU4095 ) and message FABJ4095E ( MSGFABJ4095E ), when
  using IMS V10 and containing the USER IC record in DBRC.
  
  Because HPIC V4R1 mishandles IC record type, then HPIC V4R1
  reads the volume information even though the USER IC record has
  no information. So HPIC V4R1 refers the invalid area and
  terminates with abend.
  
  By APAR PK75559, HPIC V4R1 has been modified not to read the
  volume information of the USER IC record in DBRC.
  

Problem conclusion

• FABUARCA has been modified to bypass the process that use the
  volume information in the case of the USER IC record.
  
  FABJARCA has been reassembled.
