Existing unprocessed DBDS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR provides the fix for the following problem as a forward fit for PM21169 of HP Image Copy V4R1: -HPIC Recovery function ends with RC=8 and MSG DFS301A ( MSGDFS301A ) when FREE=CLOSE is specified on DD card for image copy data set in JCL. The causes of the problem are as follows: - HPIC Recovery function checks whether the image copy data set is in the Fast Recovery Image Copy format or not prior to the recovery processing, when image copy data set exists on DASD. - When FREE=CLOSE is specified on DD card for the input image copy data set, the DD is deallocated by the CLOSE call of the format check process. Then, the OPEN call fails in the recovery process because the DD has already been deallocated. This APAR also fixes the following problem: -HP Image Copy terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) at FABJDPSA + X'775E' when all of the following conditions are satisfied: 1. Running under IMS Fast Path Advanced Tool. 2. Using stacking image copies function. 3. Having I/O error. 4. Existing unprocessed DBDS. The cause of the problem is HP Image Copy has the unnecessary logic which points the incorrect internal control block address.
Problem conclusion
FABJRDB9,FABJRDBA and FABJRDBB have been modified to issue the CLOSE call with LEAVE option when FREE=CLOSE is specified on DD card for image copy data set in JCL. FABJDPSN has been modified to bypass the unnecessary logic. FABJDPS9, FABJDPSA and FABJDPSB have been reassembled.
