Error description

  • It may happen that a load hangs and cannot be cancelled, for
example using IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator Studio.
Such a situation could occur in case of an error in the stored
procedure invoked by the load task. The error leads to a
termination of the LOAD process on the accelerator.
As a result the so-called pipe (used to transfer the data during
unload/insert in the accelerator and the database) may be
terminated before Db2luw can open it.
This leads to a wait situation (Db2luw is waiting on the pipe
and the accelerator is waiting on the termination of an INSERT
statement) resulting in the load hang.
A hotfix for maintenance level 7.5.1 is available:
    dwa-server-kit-7.5.1.0_dev_480-76829c5800.el7.ppc64le.rpm
The issue will be fixed with maintenance level 7.5.2.
    Additional keywords:
    TS003652385 TS003761281 TS003497945 RTC#24817

Local fix

  • 1. Wait until both accelerator and Db2luw clean up the situation
(this may take a couple of hours)
    or
    2. Restart the Accelerator using the IBM Db2 Analytics
    Accelerator Console

Problem summary

  • The "load in progress" logic has been changed to
avoid the issue described in this APAR.
The fix is part of maintenance level 7.5.2.

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrade your accelerator maintenance level to 7.5.2 or higher.
