APAR status

Error description

  • A CES-IP was declared in /etc/hosts with
just the IP  and without a host name.
This causes hangs in process.

Local fix

  • Fix the declarations in /etc/hosts

Make the CES IP address setup more robust
against misconfiguration
Work around:
Fix the declarations in /etc/hosts
Problem trigger:
/etc/hosts is not populated with the 3 expected
parameters
Symptom:
Hung of mmces address add .
Other internal CES IP processing could also hang.
Platforms affected:
ALL Linux OS environments (CES nodes)
