Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V12 IMS Connect users with * * IMSPLEX datastore definitions. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS Connect terminates with ABENDS0D23 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** When IMS Connect fails with ABENDS0D23 it is usually due to IMS Connect passing incorrect error message structure to the write to operator (WTO) facility. In this case IMS Connect is trying to WTO an error message (HWSO1601W) for which it has NO defined structure in part HWSM1ENU. The IMS Connect IMSPLEX driver component is attempting to notify of a failed attempt to release an internal buffer when wto'ing the message that resulted in the abend. Keyword(s): ABEND0D23 ABENDD23 S0D23 SD23 0D23 D23
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** Error message HWSI1601W has been defined in the IMS Connect message structure part HWSM1ENU. Part HWSOMXMT has been modified to WTO the new error message HWSI1601W instead of HWSO1601W. HWSI1601W reports an internal error due to a failed attempt to release internal buffers. The IMS V12 (and up) Messages and codes manual will be updated with the following description and action related to the new HWSI1601W message: --- The following manual will be updated to include the text that describes the new HWSI1601W error message as such; GC18-9713-nn Message and Codes, Volume 2: Non-DFS Messages Chapter 12: HWS Messages (IMS Connect) HWSI1601W FAILED TO RELEASE STORAGE; R=rc, B=bn, A=a, M=mc Explanation: The IMS Connect IMSPLEX driver is unable to release storage for internal buffers. In the message text: * rc the return code. * bn the buffer name. * a the buffer address * mc the module issuing the message. System Action: This message is issued and IMS Connect continues to run. System programmer response: This problem is probably an internal error. Search the problem -reporting databases to find a correction for the problem. If none exists, contact IBM Software Support. Provide the JCL, SYSLOG, and memory dump if available.
