Extended drill-down view for assets displays top-level system location when an asset is blank

A new, extended drill-down option for viewing assets and locations is introduced in Maximo Asset Management Version 7.6.1.2. The new option displays both assets and locations in a single, hierarchical view.

The standard drill-down view, which displays an Asset and a Location tab, offers two customization options in the Organizations application. The following options apply when you open the drill-down from a blank Asset or Location field:

• You can open to the Location tab, which begins with the top-level location of the primary system.
• You can open to the Asset tab, which begins with the top-level asset.

If you enable the extended drill-down feature, select the Top Level Starts at Top Level Location customization option, and open the extended Drilldown window from a blank Location field, the top node in the hierarchy is the top-level location of the primary system.

If you enable the extended drill-down feature, select the Top Level Starts at Top Level Asset customization option, and open the extended Drilldown window from a blank Asset field, the top node in the hierarchy is the top-level location of the primary system even if you configure your organization to display the top-level asset as the first asset.
