'Native' logon box appears, despite having Windows authentication enabled, caused by trying to logon with a Windows username that is not associated (mapped) to a Controller user

Troubleshooting


Problem

Customer has configured Controller to use Windows Authentication. However, when a user launches the Controller client, they are presented with a 'Native' logon screen.

Symptom

User launches Controller client. User successfully sees 'Select Database' screen:

After choosing database, user receives a Native logon screen:

This is different from what the user expects. Specifically, the user expected to not receive any logon screen
  • Instead, the user expected to be automatically authenticated using their Windows user credentials (as part of a Single Sign On process).
