Error description

  • DESCRIPTION:
The Receiving application allows rotating items to be received
in fractional quantities. For example, if an ordered quantity
is 1, it is allowable to enter .5 as the Received Quantity. The
result, in this example, is that 2 rotating assets can be
received on a PO that has a quantity of 1. Please note that the
resulting Inventory Last Cost is still the full cost of the
    item.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    -Log in to maxdemo instance
-Go To Purchasing | Purchase Orders
-Common Actions | New Purchase Order
-In the Company field enter "almar" and tab out
-On the PO Lines tab click the New Row button
-In the Item field enter "fire-100" and tab out
-In the Storeroom field enter "central" and tab out
-In the Conversion Factor field enter 1
-In the Unit Cost field enter 200.00
    -Save the record
-Common Actions | Approve Purchase Order
    -Click OK
    -Go To Purchasing | Receiving
-In the PO field enter the number of the PO that was approved,
    then press Enter
-Click the record to open it
-Click the Select Ordered Items button
-Click the checkbox for the PO Line
-In the Quantity Due field enter .5
    -Click OK
    -Save the record
-More Actions | Change Inspection Status
-Click the checkbox for the PO Line
-Observe that the Quantity Accepted value is 0.50
    -Click OK
-More Actions | Receive Rotating Items
-Observe that the Unit Cost is 200.00 and is read-only
    -Click the Autonumber button
    RESULT:
-The Receipts field updates to PARTIAL, and another rotating
    item/asset can be received
-The Last Cost on the Inventory record for the item is the cost
    for a quantity of 1, 200.00.
    EXPECTED RESULT:
If the PO specifies a whole number for the Order Unit, and the
Conversion Factor on the PO is 1, then a fractional Received
Quantity is not allowable in the Receiving application
    REPORTED IN VERSION:
