DataStage clients fail after restarting engine tier services

Troubleshooting


Problem

Job compiles hang or errors are reported from DataStage clients in a particular project. This problem occurs following a restart of the Information Server engine tier services.

Symptom

One or more of the following is displayed in a message window.

Failed to invoke GenRuntime using phantom process helper
(Subroutine failed to complete successfully (30107))
Failed to open RT_* file
Program "xxx": Line nnn, Unable to open the operating system file "yyy".
Failed to invoke GenRuntime using phantom process helper
Cannot open executable job file RT_CONFIG
DSR.ADMIN: Cannot open file UV_USERS STATUS()=-1
