Symptom

Failed discovery jobs 

Environment

  • Watson Knowledge Catalog
  • Cloud Pak for Data 3.0
  • OpenShift 4.3

Diagnosing The Problem

Resolving The Problem

1. Find the IIS Service pod
oc get pod -l app=iis-services -o name | awk -F/ '{print $2}'
2. Increase the heap size by running these commands in side the iis-service pod.
oc rsh <ii-service-pod>
/opt/IBM/InformationServer/ASBServer/bin/iisAdmin.sh -set -key com.ibm.iis.ia.jdbc.connector.heapSize -value 2048
/opt/IBM/InformationServer/ASBServer/bin/iisAdmin.sh -set -key com.ibm.iis.ia.engine.javaStage.heapSize -value 1024
3. Rerun the failed job again.
