PI25522: ABEND SD37 WHEN COPYING LARGE PDSE OVER LU0, AND SVTO022I OR SVTN001I WHEN OVER TCP. ALSO SE37 BECAUSE PRIMARY ALLOCATION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABEND SD37 received when copying a large PDSE over LU0. The
  copy will works over TCP, although it may receive either
  SVTO022I (receive error) or SVTN001I (send error), go into
  retry, then after up to 4-5 retries eventually copy
  successfully. The SPACE parameter in the allocation string
  produced for the LU0 COPY does not contain a value for the
  secondary extents.
  
  Also, also can get SE37 because the primary allocation,
  regardless of size, is reset to 64K instead of the actual value
  being used.
  

Local fix

• STRRTC - 438912
  JM / JM
  
  Circumvention:  Code a SPACE parameter in the process, making
  sure there is a secondary extent coded and the primary
  allocation is large enough.
