PH24850: ABEND U0101 IN MODULE DFHECP1$ WITH NO ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You are translating a program for use with CICS and the
  translator abends and produces a U0101 code. No additional
  reason code or external message is produces to give further
  indication of what went wrong. The issue could be that the
  translator or module DFHEITAB was loaded from an APF authorized
  library, but there are no other indications why.
  An SVC dump
  for diagnostics can be forced by coding an MVS SLIP trap
  similar to the following:
  
  SLIP SET,COMP=U0101,A=SVCD,
  
  SDATA=(ALLNUC,PSA,SQA,CSA,LPA,TRT,LSQA,RGN),END
  
  This APAR is
  being submitted to have additional diagnostics produced
  whenever there is a U0101 abend from the translator.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users.                              *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CICS translators do not issue       *
  *                      any messages if DFHEITAB or DFHEITBS    *
  *                      are loaded from an APF Authorized       *
  *                      library.                                *
  ****************************************************************
  If a CICS translator loads DFHEITAB or DFHEITBS from an APF
  Authorized library then the translator abends with code U0101,
  but no messages are issued to tell the user what caused the
  U0101 abend.
  

Problem conclusion

• The CICS translators have been updated to detect the situation
  where DFHEITAB or DFHEITBS have been loaded from an APF
  Authorized library and issue one of the following messages
  to the SYSPRINT destination:
  "Load Module DFHEITAB is write protected.
  Check that it is not in an APF Authorized library."
  or
  "Load Module DFHEITBS is write protected.
  Check that it is not in an APF Authorized library."
