Error description

• The Jenkins plugin does not recognize jenkins environment
  variables/parameters and does not substitute for them.
  
  It would be nice to allow the Jenkins plugin to do variable
  substitution (see
  https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30512887/variable-substituti
  on-in-jenkins-plugin) for more details and supposed way to
  implement.
  
  This would be useful, for example, if I have a jenkins job with
  50 steps and want to switch which workspace it is using, instead
  of setting the workspace textfield in jenkins 50 different times
  it would be nice to update a jenkins environment variable one
  time.  Or for updating IM location if it were to change.
